Hospital CIMA (Center for International Medicine Advanced) San José is located in the heart of the city and is considered the best hospital in Costa Rica. Hospital Clinica Biblica (HCB) situated at Calle Central, Avenida 14, San José, is another international hospital in San Jose. This hospital, established in 1929 has agreements with many reputed institutions like Oschner Medical Institute, Tulane University School of Medicine, Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, and Evergreen Hospital in Washington. This JCI accredited health care facility has numerous staff members who were trained in the United States. The hospital employs 200 the physicians who collectively have over 40 medical specialties and sub specialties. The hospital’s modern surgery department has 12 rooms and conducts specialized laparoscopic surgery. The hospital has well equipped coronary care, critical care and intermediate care units.
