Las Terrenas will host from October 12 to 14, 2012, the 4th edition of the Multi Cultural Fair Etnomix 2012, which is organized by the Independent Youth Front of Las Terrenas.
The president of FINJOLAT, Kenny Casimiro, speaking of the event, said It's like traveling the world without taking a plane.

Every year, the Samaná Bay is home for a privileged and wonderful show: the humpback whales arrive between January and March in order to mate or to give birth to their babies, in the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea.

It’s a great opportunity to watch these peaceable marine giants that are around 15 meters length and weight around 40 tons.
The humpback whales come to give birth in the warm waters of the Samaná Bay because the calf has a too thin fat layer to be protected against the cold waters.

The United State based JetBlue airline will begin flying on Wednesdays and Saturdays from New York City to Samaná, on the country’s northeast corner, beginning November 14. This will be the sixth Dominican airport receiving direct JetBlue flights from the United States.

Flights to one of the most beautiful and prosperous of the country’s tourism regions will leave John F. Kennedy Airport. Flights will leave NYC on an Airbus A320 aircraft, at 8:25 a.m. and will reach the El Catey International Airport at 1:05 p.m.
