Dear Readers,
Many of you have already responded and reserved for the Central American Advantage Conference in Managua Nicaragua this May 15-19. But some of you have scheduling conflicts and we wanted to let you know about another event, April 30th through May 2nd in Scottsdale, Arizona where I will be presenting as well. Take a look at the information below and I hope to see you there or here sometime in the next few weeks.
Dear Readers,
The world is changing quickly and more and more of you are considering moving and owning property overseas. Perhaps you want to open a business. There are lots of reasons people are making the move. Retirement, a better quality of life on a limited budget, and the opportunity to serve others in business or charity are the most popular reasons. There are others too, like political reasons, marriage, and job transfers. For whatever reasons, the numbers are growing rapidly and more and more North Americans are coming to Nicaragua and Latin America.
Nicaragua is a country you have to see to believe. Even well travelled executives and professionals have a hard time getting their heads around this concept. Just last week David Kidd, world-renown golf architect, most famous for the Castle Course at St Andrews, said that,
He, too, didn’t know what to expect when he first crossed the border from Costa Rica into Nicaragua. He said he was naively worried about guys with AK-47s and civil war.

In the last week of January, over 20 Maverick clients from around the world travelled to Nicaragua to experience Central America's #1 emerging market firsthand.
Real estate investors and brokers from around the world got to see Nicaragua by land, sea and air as we chartered private helicopters, took boat rides through Las Isletas de Grenada archipelago, peered into volcanoes, walked through local artisan markets, and relaxed while overlooking the Laguna de Apoyo, a stunningly beautiful crater lake. Late nights were filled with fun, laughter, traditional Nicaraguan food and music, poolside networking and plenty of Nicaraguan rum and cigars.

As the CEO and Chairman for ECI Development , Mike Cobb knows firsthand about the benefits of expat living. He and his family moved to Latin America in 2002 and have been living in Nicaragua ever since. His most recent venture is a partnership with the Overseas radio network where he hosts a weekly online radio program titled "Mike’s Gringo Life." Based on his blog about the adventures of living in Nicaragua , Cobb interviews a variety of people such as expats who are retired, those who moved overseas to start a business, and those with kids who share information about the school system and activities for children. The program also highlights cultural events in the area and discusses hot topics such as government, investments, and tourism.
