In the last week of January, over 20 Maverick clients from around the world travelled to Nicaragua to experience Central America's #1 emerging market firsthand.

Real estate investors and brokers from around the world got to see Nicaragua by land, sea and air as we chartered private helicopters, took boat rides through Las Isletas de Grenada archipelago, peered into volcanoes, walked through local artisan markets, and relaxed while overlooking the Laguna de Apoyo, a stunningly beautiful crater lake. Late nights were filled with fun, laughter, traditional Nicaraguan food and music, poolside networking and plenty of Nicaraguan rum and cigars.

The highlight of the trip was the day spent at the Seaside Mariana Oceanfront Community, the country's flagship project with over a mile of pristine beachfront. Whether swimming in the ocean or racing 4-wheelers down the beach with a beer in hand, magic was in the air and clients selected their dream condos, bungalows and home sites. A poolside contract ceremony concluded the event and everyone went home with incredible stories to tell about the fun they had, the warmth of the Nicaraguan people, and the astounding investment potential of the Nicaraguan real estate market.

In 2011, Nicaragua broke all-time records for exports, tourism and foreign direct investment in the country.
