Mercat de la Concepcio was built in 1888 in the centre of Barcelona, in the Eixample District, one of the oldest of Barcelona. Today known to be the flower market of Barcelona, open 24 hours a day. For gardeners travelers and curious: many varieties of garden flowers and seeds. Also a food market with vegetables, meat, fish. We purchased some fruts and slice of ham. Fruts were delicious.
To drive from Calella to Figueres - the birthplace of artist Salvador Dali - we rented a small car. We took a side road, not a main highway, so driving was slower, but much more picturesque. In Figueres we visited the Teatre-Museu Gala Salvador Dali, a large museum designed by Dali himself. On our way back to Calella we saw beautiful poppy field just on the side of the road.
A short drive from Barcelona airport, Calella is a popular resort on the Costa Brava, 58 km north east of Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain. Stayed at the Neptuno during our trip to Spain. The location of this hotel is excellent. Very close to a near perfect beach and very nice shops. This hotel also has live entertainment twice a week. One night they had a flamenco show for the guests. The next was a belly dance show.

In addition to Dali paintings from all decades of his career, there are Dali sculptures, 3-dimensional collages, mechanical devices, a living-room with custom furniture that looks like the face of Mae West when viewed from a certain spot, and other curiosities from Dalí's imagination.
